With almost a century and a half of history in Buenos Aires, the local polo thrives on long-standing rituals. But so much tradition must have made some concessions.
For example, female polo players having more space, fewer horses to be needed for a match or younger sponsors. If the Polo world wanted to avoid losing its audience, it had to come up to date, at least a little.
In this scenario, changes are gradual, although the increasing presence of women in this sport from time to time accelerates the pace. They were the ones who, for example, introduced a rule that makes this sport more accessible: the periods of play, called chukkers, went from seven to four, which allows playing with fewer horses and repeating with them, because they do not tire.
So, talking about changes, the “After polo” jumps over the scenario bringing a post-game gatherings with music, cocktails, and food also expand access to public.
Over the last couple of years, in the Catedral de Palermo, an event started that brings everyone together and that this season took on greater relevance: the After Polo.
In this sense, it is common to see the polo players stay after the games, creating the possibility for those who like polo, to greet their idols and spend a moment together.
For others, being able to get to know the Palermo Cathedral and spend time with friends enjoying an afternoon, a night or a vacation.
The “After Polo” brings together polo, fun, friendships and enjoying the moment.
Changes are welcome for the better!
