Defensive techniques help players keep the opposing team from scoring in their goal.
• Players can block an opponent’s swing by hooking their Mallets. Players can only do this when they are on the same side that the opponent is swinging or if they are directly in front of or behind the opponent.
• Ride-offs are allowed at 30-degree angles and at the horse’s shoulder. A ride-off is used to break an opponents concentration by riding alongside him/her, connecting with the opposing horse’s shoulder, and leading the opponent away from the ball.
